Hi, i’m Fleur, owner of  Island Collective. I’m lucky enough to be living the island life in beautiful Yamba, NSW, with my partner Jolyon and our two beautiful children. We have everything a tropical location has to offer right on our doorstep but we know that not everyone is as fortunate with their location. Because of this, I’ve created a business around styling your home for the Island life, whatever your location. The island lifestyle has always been a strong influence in my life, coming from New Zealand, with a strong Maori and Pacific influence as I was growing up. In 2010, we sold our city fringe home which had featured in New Zealand’s House and Garden magazine, and then crossed the metaphorical ditch to our current idyllic location.  It wasn’t an immediate decision to leave our dream home, jobs, and travel to a new country with two small children in tow; but it was honouring the same free spirit that had previously led us round the world on various holidays, backpacking trips and soul-searching retreats that helped us make the move. A free spirit by nature, I keep unique and sentimental pieces in my own home from my worldwide travels and this is the key to knowing what my customers are looking for when they walk into Island Collective, or visit our online store. With a passion for island living and beach style homes, the eclectic range of furnishings, art and accessories that we stock in Island Collective are made up of quality, ethical designer brands. Not only do we stock beautiful homewares we are also a contemporary art space and regularly run events, workshops and art and craft-based cocktail evenings to connect with our local community. I’m a creative artist by nature and hold the accreditation to support this as a twice finalist in the 2012 and 2014 Jacaranda Acquisitive Drawing Award, as well as a Masters in Fine Arts. I’ve  always had a passion for all things interior design and I hope that my store and styling images inspire you to create the island life you’ve always dreamed of. I look forward to sharing in our styling journeys together and if you’re visiting Yamba be sure to pop in to our takeaway coffee and sushi bar Island Espresso to say hello. Fleur Xxx
