Our first entry for 2025

February 18, 2025

It seems very appropriate for me that it is the year of the snake in Chinese New Year. A time of transformation, personal growth and renewal. After what can only be described as personally, a very challenging ending to 2024, but I am now looking forward thanks to a quick trip back to my homeland of NZ, where I had time with family and friends to reconnect and reset. It gave me much clarity about whats important and what I need to let go of that doesn’t align with my beliefs, morals and values anymore.

I may not believe in Ny resolutions, but I have started to put into place some personal goals to take better care of myself mentally, physically and spiritually..

These goals involve spending more time with family and friends and taking every opportunity to do so, as the saying says work to live not live to work. Apart of my regime will be attending pilates classes at least 2-3 times a week and also 1 session of Yin Yoga both at ‘Free the Coconut’ a wonderful local studio. Mindfulness is also on my agenda, with sessions of Reiki through a good friend.

While on the shop front, things will relativity remain the same, welcoming new products and exciting interior styling projects, I will also be allowing more time for my own creative pursuits (if you didn’t know i have been a practising artist for over 30 years) which has been pushed aside for far to long.

Whats coming up for us in the next few months….

Of course a bit of travel…A quintessential love of mine.

February will see me doing a quick trip to one of my expat clients apartments in Melbourne to curate new artwork for the space and to catch one of our favourite artists Yayoi Kusama at The National Gallery of Victoria.

March…time to let my hair down, with friends at a concert in Brisbane, seeing one of my favourite NZ bands ‘Fat Freddy’s Drop’.

April is even more exciting as we have just opened up an Expression of Interest for interested stall holders to our

‘Island Collective New and Preloved Market”

Last year it was an amazing success for everyone, so I want to hold it again. This time it will be on Saturday 19th April to coincide with the easter break. If you or someone you know may be interested please contact us for more information.
